CLE Presentation over Spring Break
Presenting at the North American Law Summit Ski-CLE in Whistler, Canada was the highlight of my 1L spring break.
I talked about the New York’s newly signed legislation, the Fashion Workers Act, and its implications for attorneys. The discussion was robust and I enjoyed hearing ideas for amendments from the sharp-minded lawyers in the audience.

NYC Fashion Law Conference
I had a fun and informative day in NYC at the Art & Fashion Law conference hosted by the Federal Bar Association SDNY Chapter, Federal Bar Association IP Law Section, and Dunnington, Bartholow & Miller LLP.
It was a treat to see Sara & Sydney of the Model Alliance again and hear about the anticipated impacts of the recently passed Fashion Workers Act on the industry. (Learn about it here: https://www.modelalliance.org/fwa.)

Successful Virtual Lobby Day for the Fashion Workers Act!
Lily joined activists from the Model Alliance over Zoom to advocate for the Fashion Workers Act in its third legislative cycle. Through sharing their stories, they secured several new signers and supporters in the Assembly for the bill. The bill passed the Senate on May 20, 2024, and the Assembly on May 21, 2024. It is now awaiting signage from the Governor.
Lobbying for the Fashion Worker’s Act in Albany
Lily joined members of the Model Alliance to lobby for the Fashion Workers Act S.9832 (Hoylman-Sigal) / A.5631E (Reyes) in Albany, NY. She and the other activists attended meetings with assembly members and senators to share their personal stories on why the Fashion Workers Act is important and how it would add workers rights that are long overdue.
Art Auction for the Richmond Justice Initiative

Lily hosted an art auction fundraiser for the Richmond Justice Initiative. The Richmond Justice Initiative was a non-profit that brought awareness to human trafficking. Lily volunteered with them from 2013 to 2018 and participated in recording videos for their Prevention Project program, an education program for children to raise awareness of human trafficking.

Lily is featured in an article about her continued work against human trafficking.
Nomi Network Brand Ambassador

Lily served as a brand ambassador and volunteer with Nomi Network, a non-profit working against human trafficking, from 2013 until 2016. Lily is seen modeling bags that women in India and Cambodia have made. The makers of the bags are survivors of human trafficking who have sought refuge under the care of the Nomi Network to support themselves and their children. All the proceeds from the sale of the bags and any donations made to Nomi Network support them.
“Melissa Harris-Perry” Feature
Lily was featured on MSNBC’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” show in 2015 to talk about the Child Model Bill shortly after it passed in New York.
“Nerding Out” Feature
Lily spoke about the Child Model Act alongside the founder of the Model Alliance, Sara Ziff, in 2015 on MSNBC’s show, “Nerding Out.”

Child Model Act Press Conference
Lily, at 13 years old, spoke alongside activists, models, and senators at the Model Alliance’s press conference on the Child Model Act.
The Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign
Lily, at age 12, was selected as a model to feature in the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign. This campaign was created to bring awareness to human trafficking in the US.
Lily’s involvement in this campaign was the catalyst for her efforts to bring awareness to human trafficking and her participation in human rights activism.
